Just had 11 w/o DD weighed. At 8 weeks, she was 11lbs and today she is 12lbs 6oz and she is EBF. :)

Just thought I'd post this to say to those who are a few weeks behind me to hang on in there. I too found it hard at first and then it got easier.

Also just to add that we had a rocky start. After a 22 hour labour I had an EMCS and DD's leg was bent the wrong way when she cae out. Thankfully it's corrected itself with no intervention needed.

Also, though I had some great BF advice from some hospital staff, I had others who forcefully pushed DD's head onto the boob.

And on Day 3 in hospital I totally fell apart and was exhausted and DD had a 30ml top up. But despite all that and a lot of pain, we soldiered on and DD is a very smiley, healthy, happy girl.

Whoop whoop, that's fab. My DD is getting weighed on Thursday, hoping for good result too.

It's odd and I know the science behind it but I can't help feeling amazed that she is being kept alive by the power of my nipples! Grin

Wonderful! Well done to you and DD! That feeling of awesomeness just gets stronger the longer you bf, or it does in my experience (I am still bfing my 14 mo DD).

My only problem is my oversupply at the moment. I'm convinced that this is what is making DD throw up sometimes. The milk is too furious and fast and she gulps / overeats and it comes back up again. But seeing as she only does it once, maybe twice a day, I'm guessing it's not reflux and just one of those things that me and the laundry basket are going to have to put up with!

And JiltedJohnsJulie, I'm fuelling my breastmilk with Chinese food. Grin
