Will this cause problems with my milk supply?

My DD is 5wks today and EBF.

She's always cluster fed in the evenings for about 5hrs and this is followed by a long sleep. It used to be anything between 4-6hrs but for the last 3 nights, she's slept for 8hrs in a whole block.

No other causes for concern with her, plenty dirty and wet nappies, feeds plenty in the day, feels like she's gaining weight but just worried it might affect my supply.

A friend has also suggested I don't tell the HV as she'll want me to wake and feed her but as I'm feeding on demand surely that goes against that?

I'm reluctant to mess around with my supply if this won't be a problem, last time I changed how I fed her, I ended up engorged with too much milk, would really like to continue as I am doing as that is what my instinct is telling me to do but just worried as this is my first baby and don't want my supply o drop off.

This the 3rd time I've tried to post this today, hope it works this time!

As long as there are no other consers, then I'd say go with it you are doing exactly the right thing by feeding on demand. Enjoy it though it doesn't always last (unless this one truns out to be a good sleeper).

Agree with MigGril that it sounds great provided there are no other concerns. And also think you should make the most of it while you can!

Thanks Migril and TittyBojangles - I'm glad your advice concurs with my own intuition.
I'm expecting it's a fluke although my mum says all of us (there were 5 of us) slept through by 6 weeks at the latest so hoping she's taken after us rather than DH's family.

As long as she's back to her birth weight or gaining you don't need to wake her and your baby won't let your supply go down she's gonna have a growth spurt soon anyways to boost your supply just let your baby lead the way and you'll be fine enjoy the sleep while you can
