Can't bear for my boobs to be touched at the best of times...

So how will I breastfeed?!!

They actually hurt to be touched, always have, including during rude stuff (sorry TMI!!) Been having a bit of a feel during pg and still hurt myself even when being gentle. Once they've been touched they hurt for ages afterwards.

I know BF hurts most people- am I just doomed to it hurting more than most or is there a chance I might start on an even keel with the many other BF ladies?!

Anyone else successfully BF after boob pain?!

Thanks

What kind of pain do you feel?
Pain in the body of the breast, or in the nipple?
Do you know the reason for this pain?

I have never felt pain like you describe, but I can say that your relationship with your breasts will change entirely when you give birth. This finally shows us what they are there for.
If anything can allow your breasts to be touched, it will be for the sake of feeding your baby.

I wonder if you could discuss this with a breast feeding specialist to get some advice?

Thanks for the reply.

I'd say it was surface pain (skin/nipple) rather than deep down. Like if you have a bad graze then touch it directly, that kind of thing....!?

Really?
That doesn't sound very pleasant.
Is that normal?
Have you ever discussed it with a doctor or anyone to know the cause?

No...... I'd say they are just super super sensitive? Would feel a bit daft randomly going to docs, dont like going if I'm on deaths door! Hope to be going to BF groups nearer the birth tho, will ask there...thanks again x

Yes, I think that's a good idea.
It would probably help you to know whether it's normal and what other people's experiences are.
Good luck.

Pre breastfeeding, I hated my breasts to be touched (they were sensitive). I knew I would bf, but I couldn't imagine it. I still don't like my breasts to be touched, but I love breastfeeding - it is a totally different scenario - and they are no loner sensitive!
