My ds is 6 days old and has had jaundice and low sodium levels so the paed said that i had to top up with formula or expressed milk which i have. Ds now does not want to suck from my breast but will happily take a bottle how do i get him to suck from my breast again. He fusses and cries when i give him the breast so i have had to express on a regular basis.

I saw a lactation counsellor at the hospital when we were admitted but are willing and open to ideas

At this young age it's probably better not giving topups in a bottle. Using a cup or syring is a good option. Trying to get baby back on the breast, lot's of skin to skin contact so that baby can try latching on when no presure to feed. Google biological nurtiaring.

You could also try a SNS (suplermental nursing system) this can be used to finger feed or the tube can be attached to the nipple so baby gets topups directly at the breast. This will of cause help stumilate your milk supply to.

Lots of helpful stuff here

Bathing together is good too. Spend as much time as you can doing skin to skin and cuddling up close.

Congrats on your ds
