Frozen breastmilk

Hi, hoping someone can confirm how quickly I have to use up frozen breastmilk once I have taken it out of the freezer?

I'm trying to express some milk for my son's feed at nursery tomorrow with limited success. I have a stash in the freezer but have to send in made up bottles to nursery so can only do that once it has defrosted.

Thanks in advance!

Have you looked on the KellyMom website - they have all the guidelines for expressed milk on there.... It says:
"Previously frozen milk may be kept in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours after it has finished thawing. Do not refreeze."

There's some information here www.kellymom.com/bf/pumping/milkstorage.html .
Everywhere I read, it gives different guidelines but I've found this website to be pretty spot on regarding everything else. When I'm using milk from frozen, I try to use it within 24 hours from when it's defrosted and we've never had a problem. Hope that helps.
