How to move from bf to cow's milk?

I want to bf ds until a year and then move him onto cow's milk rather than formula.

Anyone done the same and got any ideas how best to do it? I am trying to get dairy like yoghurt and milk into his diet at the moment bt he doesn't seem to like it much, although he likes cheese sauce! HV always seems surprised I am still bf and only quotes NHS guidance anyway which often isn't helpful, so I don't expect any help from there. He's 8 months at the moment.

Is this for day or night feeds? Day feeds shouldn't be very hard as babies do naturally drop it when you introduce more and more solids. DD is at nursery and by about 9mo, she was down to 20ml in her bottles. (She is bf at home). She now has cows milk in a cup mid morning when the children has their milk break. Mid afternoon she has a snack.

I'm not sure whether DD will be happy with a cup on wake up or bed time. I plan to bf till 18mo and then see if she can drop the morning feed and move her to a cup at bed time.

Does he drink water from a cup? By 12months my DS was eating a lot and drinking water from a cup so I just switched his afternoon bf for a cup of cow's milk (slighlty warm - he didn't like it staright from the fridge). He took to it really well, and although I've decided to carry on bf at nap time and bedtime, I think I could easily swap these for cups of milk if I wanted to.
Does he have milk on cereal? That would get him used to the taste a bit. My DS likes raisin wheats soaked in milk.

I started giving cow's milk in a cup with meals around 11 months or so, alongside water and not as a replacement milk feed but just for her to get used to the taste (and the temperature - straight from the fridge!). Hardly any milk got drunk from a cup till around 13 months when we went down to 3x bf a day.
