Stopping B/F at 14 months

DD has pretty much self weaned apart from the bedtime feed. I think she only has this for comfort as she's on the boob for 5min max.

I'm 30 weeks pg and want a break from b/f before DD2 arrives.

So for the last 2 nights DH has put DD1 to bed with no boob. She has settled really well and doesn't seem bothered at all. All good so far but 2 questions:

1)My boobs are really sore today and leaking some milk. How long before this stops/feel less painful?

2)DD1 doesn't like cows milk as a drink. She has milk on cereal, 1-2 yoghurts a day but I'm worried about her getting enough calcium etc. Is this enough? If not how can I get her to have more? Should I try growing up milk?

Thanks

As long as she is eating cheese, yogs, milk on cereal and in cooking sauces rice pud etc this should be enough. Be careful with the growing milk its very sweet and expensive!
Lie in a nice warm bath and let your milk flow as much as poss. You should adjust within a few days.:)
Good Luck with no.2!

I stopped at 14 months too and it was a good while maybe 6 months or so before ds drank cows milk. I gave him extra yoghurt and cheese etc.
Your boobs will be diff to mine due to the preg but mine were ok after a couple of days, ds was down to a very short feed at bedtime too.
Well done for feeding for 14 months and whilst preg that's some achievement!

Thanks both. I'll steer clear of growing up milk as don't really like the idea of it and load up on yoghurt etc.

Let's hope DD2 goes as smoothly!

have you tried her on goats milk? DD1 loves it & it is widely available now.
