I realised this may be the wrong section but didn't know where else to post.

DD is only 5 weeks. We are bf on demand. Realised last night after a few hours of grizzling, that little one has never gone from waking to sleeping without being on the breast.

This may not be a problem but does mean DH is unable to settle her without me as he lacks the needed equipment!

Normal?

Yes. Perfectly normal and a great sign that you LO is content. Falling asleep with a full belly of milk....she couldn't be happier!

Your DH is equipped to do many other things, he doesn't need to settle your DD at this stage, she mainly needs the comfort and nutrition you can provide.

In time (blink and you'll be there) your DH will be able to do loads more, but don't be in a hurry, just give your DD what she needs.

IMO, the best thing your DH can do at this stage is to look after you so you can focus on looking after the baby.

Congrats on your new DD :)

Lovely post from Bonkers, exactly what I was going to say Grin

This is very normal (and it doesn't last forever!) and you are doing a fantastic thing for your DD by feeding on demand.

Meanwhile your DH can bring you food and drinks and the remote control books.

Thank you for the reassurance :)
