Hello all,

I'm expecting in a few day and really considering breastfeeding my baby for the full 6 months. I was wondering if any mums on here had any issues with breastfeeding or could just give me any general advice.

Thank you :)

There's a great thread running at the moment with people's ideas on this www.mumsnet.com/Talk/breast_and_bottle_feeding/1380966-The-most-helpful-thing-about-breastfeeding-you-wish-youd-known. A lot of the posts are individual experience and won't apply in general, but there is general stuff, too.

Main thing is to understand that breastfeeding always gets off to a better start if your baby is fed responsively, and that you know this is part of your growing loving relationship with him, and more than just a way of getting food and drink into him/her :)

There are good sources of personal help - see mumsnet bf pages for helpline numbers.
