His dad is rather feckless.

My last experience of bottle feeding was 8 yrs ago with DS.

My mum never bottle fed so is also walking in the dark.

We have bottles. We have formula powder. We have a steriliser....

From work, I think the rules on making the milk and leaving a stash in the fridge has changed, hasn't it?

Can anyone help me find what the current making bottles guidelines are please?

Oh I remember reading your thread about your poor sister's birth- sorry to hear she's still in hospital.

Here is something from kellymom about how to actually bottle feed a baby as oppose to the making up the bottles bit.

Hope I'm not preaching to the converted, but I had no idea personally how to even hold a friend's baby when I offered to bottle feed it.

At nursery we boil the kettle and let it cool, for a few minutes, then pour in the required ounce amount for a newborn 4 oz would probably be enough for the first feed and it will also cool quicker, use the spoon that comes in the formula, apply the same amount of spoons as you have oz's e.g 4 oz of water means 4 scoops of powder, make sure you level off the spoon (there is usually an edge in the formula tin) if the spoon gets steamy the formula will stick to the spoon so try to keep it away from the steam. (we wash and sterilise the spoons after every use) put the lid on, and shake side ways avoiding getting the milk in the teat, sit in cold water to cool. Smile
