16 week growth spurt?

boba82 · 15/01/2012 02:58

My 16 week ebf ds has started waking up at 2am for a 3 hour feedathon (on and off between dozing) This is killing me! Before he started this he was sleeping right through or very close to it.
During the day he feeds every 2-3 hours. Do you think this is just another a growth spurt or is it time for solids?
Any advice appreciated. TIA.

Growth spurt. These things pass. Feeding ATM - soz for brevity.

DD2 is 15wks tomorrow so I am waiting for this to happen here too. Any chance you can squeeze a couple of extra feeds in during the day? But yes, it should pass soon and go back to normal.

Do you feed lying down at night so you can doze too?

Def not time for solids, both of mine virtually slept thru at 12-14 weeks and then regressed to about erm about 14 months. There's always a growth spurt/ developmental leap / teeth. I found that once I'd accepted I was going to have broken sleep I felt much better about it. Oh, and co sleeping when necessary. Sorry i haven't given you an answer you'll like tho!

Thanks ladies. Yeah I bring him in with me for feeds & doze but right now he doesn't even want fed & is having a party in his crib! Sleep I miss you. . .Sad

if it makes you feel better my 15 week ds2 is formula fed and woke for 3 feed's last night, 11, 2 and 4! growth spurt here too, although I'm secretly pleased as had slow weight gain till now so hoping he'll fill out a bit!

Ugh, 3.09 posting is grim! Hope it passes very soon and you can welcome sleep back into your household.
