Low Dose (75mg) Asprin and BF?

Has anyone taken low dose asprin and BF?

We want to TTC again and last time I had to take asprin whilst TTC and until 37 weeks pregnant and will at least need to take it from BFP this time. My GP said asprin is a no no in pregnancy, but although it doesn't say so exactly, the BFN leaflet seems to suggest low dose asprin is safe in pregnancy. I did say this to the GP, but I don't think she'd even heard of the BFN. Sad

GP has referred me to the high risk pregnancy unit for pre pregnancy counselling, but if I could be armed with info when I go, that would be great.

(going to ring BFN on Monday too)

Grr! Meant to say GP says no when BF (not pregnancy) and BFN leaflet seems to suggest low dose is safe when BF (not pregnancy) !!!

I am taking it after much too-ing and fro-ing with my GP

I take it at night as I don't feed DD at all from 7 - 7

She is also 2 years old which may be significant

It was a few months ago so can't quite remember the rationale

For a nuanced, evidence-based account of the info on aspirin and bf, see here:

Not all meds get into breastmilk, loopymumsy. Only some do.
