Boobs after giving up breastfeeding...

I've just stopped breastfeeding after 16 months and although the pain has gone and the size (down from a EE to a D) they still feel odd, full of lumps and bumps. I gave up on New Years Day. Is it normal for them to feel a bit odd and if so how long does it take for them to feel normal? Hope this all makes sense.

Give it a good 6 weeks or so. Your body will adjust slowly. You produce milk for quite a while but the lumpy bumpy bit will calm down fairly quickly when your body cottons on. Don't express, squeeze or fiddle any more than absolutely necessary. Any pain, proper lumps or hot to touch areas etc then you might need to do something but otherwise it does just take a few weeks. Get fitted for a good bra too.

I'm glad you posted this I was just thinking of doing the same. Mine feel really odd and there was a large hard lump that did seem to go down after a bit of a massage, it is very painful though.

I dont want to look an idiot if I went to the doctor if it is nothing to worry about.

I will go for a bra fitting though it is about time I did!
