Very personal so will understand if folks dont respond.. Was just wondering when your periods started and how often u were feeding your lo?! I have a nine month lo and my periods haven't restarted she feeds on average 4-6 times in 24hours and eats four good sized meals a day! And she does still feed at night once or twice....;0)

Mine started yesterday at 6weeks :(. I am rather jealous of all those who have gone months.

It's reassuring to see how many other people are saying 6 weeks or so. Makes me feel a bit less cheated!

DS is coming up to 9 mo and no sign. We will start having sex again not preventing in May I think and let my body decide what works for it. I'm in the 'if you can't conceive/sustain a pregnancy whilst BFing then it's not right' camp (assuming you conceived normally previously with no gynae antecedents) so will leave Mother Nature to her own devices.

With my ebf boys who fed non stop, they came back after about 8 weeks. With my ebf girl who goes much longer between feeds, they have still not returned (nearly 4 months now). Go figure.

15 months but was very irregular (like having a week period every 2 months). DD was ebf and weaning at the same time, but I was still expressing once a day as I was working part time.

I stopped bf a month ago (DD is 18mths now) and I only have one period so far...... still very irregular, may be that explains the mood swings Grin

Just be awared if you do get your period, it can be very heavy for the first few days. For me, I have very heavy period for the first 3 days and my period was never that heavy before childbirth..... took me by surprise (and very tired as well). Blush

Hope you are keeping well Smile

I had no periods between pregnancies as got pregnant on first ovulation, twice. However, DS1 would have been around 9 months, DS2 around 12 months and DD was 19 months when they finally returned.
I've known other mothers who have gone for up to 25 months postpartum before their periods have returned.

Thanks ladies!!! I have to say I'm not missing my periods one bit but do not like the fact I don't know when they will start again! We have gone down the let mother nature decide route iykwim!! Wink have a stash of tampons/towels that have probably expired now it was that long ago since I needed them!! Hope you all have a fab weekend! Smile

Dd is 26wks and I started having mild period pains yesterday and I thought ooh I don't like this, maybe it's my womb contracting back still? Had the shock of my life later that day! Sooooo annoyed! I didn't think the came back at all when bf! She feeds a bit through the day and wakes in the night too and is on 2 meals

:(

Jakeyblueblue · 13/01/2012 22:09

My DS is 7 months and is ebf. No sign of any period yet. He goes 5 hrs between feeds in the day now but we co sleep so he does still feed alot at night. Was Hoping to try for ds2 soon so have got fingers crossed that this little one drops some feeds soon! Grin

PenguinArmy · 13/01/2012 22:15

DS was 6 weeks, I proper fed on demand, never more than 2 hours but otherwise feed at every squeak.

DD was either 6 or 10 weeks, still haven't worked that one out.

I have quick feeders and think I read somewhere that it's to do with cumulative time spent feeding as well, which cancelled out the frequent feeds for me I guess.
