Hi
Just after some reassurance or advice really.

DD is 28 weeks and is breastfed. We have started BLW but she doesn't seem to be eating much. We have not been doing breakfast yet.

However she seems to have dropped a 'mid morning' feed- she used to feed at about half ten ish. Now she goes from between five and seven until half twelve ish.

If I offer she refuses and pushes away - and even cries.

I just worry she isn't getting enough especially as she makes hunger signs but refuses for so long.

Thanks

My first instinct is to let the baby lead the way. If she refuses, I wouldnt force the issue. Id just hold on until she is ready to have something, keeping the atmosphere light and ensureing feeding isnt an issue will make her more comforatable with it.

I do think that 5-7 until half tweleve is a long time to go. Would she take a mid morning snack? Milk from a cup?

When I was weaning my daughter, she refused anything that came on a spoon! She would only eat what she fed herself and I found that so hard. I was sure she wasnt getting enough, and the drop in milk worried me. Needless to say, with time we found the swing of things, she is a great eater (although at 3 still prefers fingers to cutlery!).

I would just try to keep things light hearted, make sure your worries arnt seen by your dd and let her lead the way.

Good luck to you!

My nine month old does the same, although he does have breakfast. He seems to make up for it in the afternoon when he has quite a few feeds (including one right after dinner).
