Which bottle teats for an EBF baby?

DD is now seven weeks old and EBF. She's putting on great weight and very happy and since she was three weeks old we gave her an occasional expressed bottle in a Mam bottle. Thing is, since last week she's decided she doesn't like this anymore and she sounds like she's being tortured when we try to give her a bottle.

I'm employed and self-employed so during my maternity leave I may have to leave her with DH to feed her. I've been expressing milk and it would heartbreaking if it's all gone to waste!

Can I ask which teats people have had success with or any tips they might have?

Ah I was going to suggest a MAM teat, it's the only thing that my dd would take. My ds would never take a bottle so no help there. Maybe try changing the teat for one with a faster flow if she might be getting frustrated?

my ebf ds takes the NUK teats. dad does the bottlefeeds and i'm not around, so he doesn't have the "boob option", probably that'll help you if you haven't tried yet?

DH usually does the bottle but he's out all day and night at the mo and I didn't want to get to the stage where she "forgot" and would reject the bottle.

Even when she has taken it, she's really screwed up her face. I think she's holding out for the source!

I might give a faster flow a try as I have a fast let down.

My little girl was 7 weeks before we tried a bottle, EBF before then. We use Tommee Tippee and she's taken to them really well. It took a few tries at first but within a few minutes she was drinking away Smile we just rubbed the teat on her top lip so she thought it was a nipple. Good luck Smile

Also Tommee Tippee. Used a Medela at about four weeks once only, and he took it fine but struggled with it when I tried to introduce a bottle for expressed dream feed at about 15 weeks. Once he figured out how to operate it, took to TT fine. Not that surprising really as TT looks much more like a boob than Medela!

DS had Tommee Tippee, and obviously decided he liked them better than BF as he went on nursing strike at 9 weeks and I never got him to BF again. In fact he loves those bottles so much he still refuses milk from any other kind of cup at nearly 4 years old.

DD has Momma bottles, which have teats similar to avent but without the strange extra ring inside. She still BF well and there has been no nipple confusion or breast refusal from her.

my breast fed baby has had an occasional bottle since 9 days and a daily bottle since 5 weeks and has had no problems with a tommee tippee closer to nature

Mine was a bottle refuser from 3-4mo. Before that she had TT. She retook a bottle at 7mo with the NUK brown latex teat when I went back to work. (I bought NUK and breastflow for the nursery to try). She chews all the teats except for the NUK.
