Remind me:4 month regression...

dc2 is bang on 4 mo, formula fed, back from long haul travel a week ago, cut two teeth, a horrible cough, runny nose & drooling lots. A wee monkey re nighttime & feeding. Was v lucky and prev just up once between 830pm and 630 am. Now taking nearly a whole extra 7oz overnight and About 4-5 7oz bottles during the day.

Is this just regression? He is so interested in the world around him that feeding when eg out&about takes ages! Also lots of fussing about the bottle but if you give him a 'rest' he'll have more. I'm not trying to 'force' home to finish bottles.

I'm just feeding whenever he looks unhappy/at least offering as he is still so small& that wouldve been what I would do if I'd been br-feeding.

Cheers!

You are lucky

my DD will be 4 months at the end of this week... we had made it to only waking in once in 12 hours for 2 breast fuls of milk and the last 3 nights we have had, 8 then 6 then 7 breast fulls per night. yawn yawn yawn

My DS is 4 months on the 14th Jan. He's just started to feed more than usual. Last night his bedtime feed was over an hour long Shock!! Thankfully he's still just up once in the night (so far, Eeek!)

Maybe there is a spurt around this age?

Sorry.didnt mean to sound ungrateful. I know we r lucky but just wondering if I'm doing the 'right' thing (if there is such a thing!). Also don't want to be missing something.

Now throwing powders & teething gel at the problem but he is miserable!

And respect to the br-feeders. I seem to remember s'thing like this when my br-fed daughter hit 4mo.
Cheers for the replies.

Sounds about right to me. I had a blissful three weeks when DS went 8-7 every night, then he started waking at 4, and now 12 and 4. Yawn. Luckily he BFs very quickly and we both drop straight off afterwards, so it's not too trying, but on balanced, I much preferred 8-7! He's definitely more distractible. Woe betide me if I try and read a magazine while he's eating. He'll turn his head like an owl to try and see it!
