DS2 is six weeks old and still feeding every 2h45-3 hours day and night (from start of feed to start of next feed). DS1 had started to space his night feeds by now and i was generally getting at least one 4 hour stretch of sleep so i have been holding onto the six week milestone to keep me positive and upbeat. Now it is here and there is no sign of improvement I feel a bit down and only sleeping in blocks of 1h45 is starting to take its toll.

Rest in the day is tricky as I have a toddler to look after and I am not a fan of co sleeeping - I end up so cold and uncomfortable that I sleep much less!

When should i expect it to get better? I need to re-set my expectations!

papillon really sorry that I haven't got time to answer your post but didn't want you to go unnoticed.

Hopefully this will bump it for you and somebody who's in the know will be along soon.

My dd1 was sleeping through at 10 weeks. Dd2, now 16 weeks, feeds every 4 hours at night. Some nights it's every 2! I'm reminding myself it'll get better...

Check obvious things... Latch correct? Getting hind milk... Fluttering at end of feed...

Or... Try to see if they'll go back to sleep? Are you picking them up too early?

Good luck

I remember 6 weeks as being tough, don't know if its a growth spurt but like u feeding every 2hrs. Chocolate got me through:) he settled around 12 week mark to sleeping a 5hr stretch until 20 weeks when it was back to every 2 to 3 hrs. I can't cosleep either, I worry to much. What I did was take the side of the cot and attach it to the side of the bed. Made life much easier.
