Allergy to cows milk?? - signs and symptoms??

DD is 7 weeks and it's been suggested by her cranial oesteophath that she may be sensitive to cows milk! I'm just wondering what the signs and symptoms are??

gina, can you ask him/her why he/she thinks so?

There is cows milk protein allergy or intolerance...very difficult to be sure of either unless symptoms are pretty obvious (ie the baby is ill).

We originally went to see him 2 weeks ago when DD was being very unsettled! We all thought it was reflux but I'm
Convinced it's not! DD has improved alot in 2 weeks but the last week she is quite gassy and has had vinegary stools which were green! Not so vinegary but still green! She has also been quite mucusy. Thought it may be a cold but didn't developed into anything! I've also had the same and thought I was coming down with something but it stayed in my throat and now I'm fine!

She had a few strings of mucus in her stools but only twice!

DD has 5-6 dirty nappies a day, sometimes more, is this normal for 7 weeks?

Definitely not I'll! Also worth mentioning that she is putting on weight and feeds alot!!

I hope someone else will come and share experience, Gina, but the stools you are describing could just be normal - plenty of babies have stools like that inc occasional mucous and inc that sort of frequency. Not sure what you mean by 'gassy'.

What's the CO suggesting you do? If she is breastfed, then you would need to go on a very hard-to-maintain totally dairy free regime (and for what? Those symptoms, if that's what they are, are very mild!). If she is ff, then the only option would be specialist formula - again, is it worth it?

Thanks for replying tiktok.

I have to agree if I'm being honest! I like to think the the co is helping but I don't think DD is sensitive to milk! Surely that would have started from birth! Also the stools would always be green but there not!

I'm so confused!! This breastfeeding thing is so hard to figure out sometimes!!
