Have you been helped by a volunteer breastfeeding counsellor in the last 12 months?

The Association of Breastfeeding Mothers is calling all new parents!

We really would appreciate your help.

Volunteer breastfeeding counsellors make a difference to families across the UK every day. They staff national helplines, run drop-ins, visit new mums at home and new families in hospitals.

In a world where health professionals are increasingly over-stretched, for many families they can make the difference between overcoming struggles and continuing to breastfeed and not.

Did a breastfeeding counsellor make a difference to you and your baby?s life? Would you like them to get some recognition?

Pam?s Prize is a new annual award to remember the ABM's beloved leader, Pam Lacey, who died in November 2010. We want to celebrate the life of an inspirational breastfeeding advocate and recognise those who share her values and someone who goes that extra mile as she did.

Nominees for ?Pam?s Prize? can be a La Leche League Leader, a breastfeeding counsellor from the ABM or the NCT, or a breastfeeding supporter from the Breastfeeding Network.

Just write up to 250 words putting forward your nomination and email it to [email protected] or send it to The Association of Breastfeeding Mothers, PO Box 207, Bridgwater, TA6 7YT before March 1st 2012.

Further details on our website, www.abm.me.uk

If you tell a friend who you know has been helped by a volunteer breastfeeding counsellor, that could mean the right person getting the recognition they deserve.

You can also download the flyer for Pam's Prize from the home page of our website.

Thank you
