Bedtime feeding

I breastfeed my 4 month old DD, with the exception of a 11pm bottle of formula, which she takes with no problems. Since day 1 we have had a bedtime routine of a bath at 6pm then a long sleepy breastfeed. I then either put her down asleep, or if still drowsy I give her a dummy.

In the coming weeks there's going to be a few separate occasions where I will be out at her bedtime & my mum will be putting her to bed. My joy at having a few evenings off is outweighed by me worrying at whether my DD will go to sleep with a bottle, or whether the combination of being put to bed by someone who's not me, and the routine being different by not getting a bf will send her into meltdown.

Does anyone have any tips for making this work successfully?

We had a very similar routine to you when my dd was that age. I suppose the only advice I have is to get your mum stick to the exact same routine. My dd at that age always fell asleep on the breast and would scream when put into bed awake so I just used to get anyone else feeding her to let her fall asleep on them. Sometimes

Sorry hadnt realised that I had posted a half finished message - was on my phone and became distracted sorry!

I think that all I was going to add was that sometimes my dd would fall asleep on the bottle and other times she would have some milk and cuddle in to whoever was putting her to bed.
