Bed side cots

Hi, first baby due in march and I will be exclusively breastfeeding. I've been looking at cots and bed side cots appear to be the best to me, around 8 heights to line them up perfectly with your bed and a side which folds under the cot, however, They appear to be very rare so wonder am I missing something? I want to get one from eBay really but have looked in a large mothercare (who sell one online) and a large mamas and papas shop (wanted to see one in the 'flesh') and can't find one. Very rare on eBay too.
Have you got one? Where is it from? What is it called?

Grin I'm not even joking!

Ikea cots definitely :) Not all of their cots work as 3 sided ones - make sure you get the ones which are designed to have one side removed "as the child grows"

(Not sure the usefulness of this feature for anything other than co-sleeping, because most children outgrow a cot in length by 2/2.5ish!)

If you have a gap, push the cot mattress flush with yours and fill the gap on the far side - it's safer and more sturdy.

Ds2 is in a bed now, but still has his ikea cot, converted to daybed, in his room. He uses it as an enormous bed for his baby doll and also as a sofa. I use it as a space to chuck stuff, like folded clothes waiting to be put away and random toys I find strewn in the older children's bedrooms. :)

bertie genius filling the gap on the far side, sounds far preferable. Again, something I would never have thought of Blush what a good idea it was posting on MN, been agonising about bloody cots for weeks! Smile

or even get a custom made mattress after measuring up. It's not too expensive. Smile
