I am wading through reviews on Amazon, but cant seem to find any that dont leak. I am very leaky, so this is number one priority. So far I have tried:

johnson and johnson disposables - love them for their softness and absorbency, but its costing me a fortune and is making me feel guilty about environmental impact.

advent and medula disposables - hate them for their scratchiness, they sound like crisp packets and the individual wrapping makes the environmental guilt thing even worse and is a pain when you have a handful of baby. The sticky back thing doesnt seem to work with me either, they always end up bunched up, unlike the J & J's

LANAcare - wool pads, expensive mistake, I thought I was buying the "rolls royce" of breast pads, but they are bulky, unsightly, scratchy and left little bits of fluff all over my nipples and it got in my baby's mouth!

So if anyone out there has found washable breastpads that dont leak, feel comfy and dont show through your bra, please share!

thanks xxx

Pretty sure mine were avent washable ones but it was a few years ago!

I used contoured re usable lansinoh pads after washing them the NEED to be ironed but were great pads and very comfortable

I really liked my weenotions ones, they're minky and have PUL in them. They're pretty thin as well.

You can message them and get them to make them to order as well in some of their prettier fabrics.

Also little lambs do them as well.

I'm v leaky and little lambs are no good for me. Shame as I bought 20

MummyAbroad · 26/12/2011 23:26

wow thanks for the speedy replies!

I forgot to mention I have some avent washables and I leak through those, so I am looking for something pretty hard core.

determination ironing is out of the question I am afraid. Grin

puravida and/everyone. What happens if you double up the pads?

I like little lambs as they do have a waterproof inner.

I leak through doubled up ones too. They are all useless. In the end I save money by not using breast pads at home except when feeding. Then I just reuse an old one from the previous feed. I can't stand wearing an soaked lumpy breast pad but can wear one for the short period of feeding. This means if I'm at home I don't have to change to a new pad every feed. I use only johnsons or lansinoh. The supermarket ones aren't absorbent enough.

I'd second WeeNotions ones - they are fab.

I can also reccomend Hollow Oak ones as well as Jimmy Riddles ones.

i have been using cut up sanitary towels at home Blush (lots left over from over from hospital bag!)

I would like to upgrade to something a little nicer, so i will give some of these brands a try.
