Ooh, poor you. I think you are okay to take paracetamol and ibuprofen so technically any cold remedy with those should be okay. Be careful taking a tablet and a cold rememdy though in case they contain the same active ingredient.

Sorry you're feeling rubbish.

This leaflet from BfN should help you work out what you can take.

HTH

Just brufen/paracetamol for pain/inflammation/fever. Lots of cold remedies contain ephedrine derivatives which are stimulants. For your nose try olbas oil/vaporub/steam inhalation. You can also get a plug in diffuser like an air freshener.

Or inhale essential oils of peppermint, eucalyptus mixed with hot water and menthol crystals

And drink home made hot lemon with active 10+ Manuka honey.

This always had me back on my feed and feeling good within a few days ( during my 4 years of bfing!)

Feed- feet!!

Thank you. Mn is great. Not got any oils etc so honey and lemon and paracetamol then. Just realised I've been bfing for past 4 years solid, not really had colds much.

Hi, you can take paracetemol and ibuprofen, but be wary of the cold remedy type drugs. Anything that is a decongestant type thingy contains drugs which dry up body secretions - like snot, but also milk, so best not to take any of them.
Hope you are feeling better soo, it sucks being ill over chrismas xx

Also a plain steam inhalation is good for blocked noses. Just run a shower and stand in the room make sure the fan's off.

Hope you feel better soon.
