Hi,
I've posted before about my DS sleeping through the night quite early on. Well he is still doing it, although longer now. From about 8 - 6. He also has about 4 naps during the day. When he is awake he is very alert, kicks his legs like crazy on his little baby gym and babbles and smiles a lot. He feeds all day, but just little feeds, 5 mins here, 10 mins there. Is this amount of sleep normal for his age? Should I be worried? He also has about 8 dirty nappies a day. I'm also worried about this. I know I'm probably being a neurotic first time mother but when I tell other mums about the amount of sleep and dirty nappies they seem surprised. The HV says this is OK but probably because he is stacking on the weight. Any advice or experience would be most welcome.
Thanks

Yup. They need about 15hrs on average so 10hrs at night and 5hrs during the day is a good split. DS is 15 weeks, sleeps 10hrs straight at night and then during the day is awake for an hour and a half max, naps for an hour, awake for an hour and a half max, naps for an hour etc until 9pm when he settles for the night. He's also a snacker. Feeds little and often.

I'm no expert but I reckon if he is gaining weight and seems happy and healthy then there is nothing to worry about. My DS used to have at least 8 dirty nappies per day and my DD (now 2 months) is the same! Wish she slept like your DS too! Xmas Envy Enjoy it!!
