It's quite early days, so things might change and I will probably keep trying on a ad hoc basis but

I have firm reason to say no to helpful Hmm family members who insist they
need to take him for hours to help us out.

Don't have to express, I returned to work quite soon with DD and she was BF to over a year but oh my, did I come to hate the pump.

DS1 took one, DS2 didn't and it was a pain sometimes but I absolutely agree with you that it has major upsides, and if it's right for you, it's brilliant :)
