Baby is 3.5 months old and ebf
Should I call ooh dr? Or fine to wait till am when gp opens?

Get into a warm bath if you can and try expressing manually or with a hand pump, this should get things moving. Keep feeding and ibuprofen is fine to bring down inflammation. A warm hot water bottle over the area is good too. Kellymom has good advice too ( no idea how to do links on the iPad) but hopefully you might be able to sort it with these steps.

Oh, and gentle circular movements behind the area can help move the blockage along.

Is the patch red (kind of wedge shaped)?

Do you feel feverish or like you have the flu coming (achy, chills, etc)?

If not it might 'just' be a blocked duct which you don't need anti-biotics for and can treat at home.

Lots of info here which should help you work out if it is mastitis/blocked duct and how to treat.

Hope you feel better soon.

if you feel flu-ey and nauseous, i'd get onto doc now for antibios as mastitis can come on very quickly. if you're feeling basically ok, i'd try doing the combing in a hot shower thing then go to doc tomo if no change.

Absolutely, if you feel unwell at all as well as having the lump, get the doctor out. Mastitis can make you very poorly very quickly.

Thank you. I don't feel unwell now, just painful breast so I will try hot bath and expressing a bit with massaging then see how it is in the morning. Thanks!
