Has anyone used it before? DS is on Aptimil but after yet another price increase i've been thinking of changing it. He is 4 1/2 months old, he was on SMA but that didnt agree with him, he went onto Aptimil 1 but it never sat right on this stomach so at the moment he's on Aptimil hungry.

He has everything else HIPP - porridge etc so wondered if anyone had used HIPP milk?

WinterLover, Hipp is not as well used as other brands because it is not as widely available - probably why you have not had many replies to your post.

All the brands on sale in the UK are more or less the same - they have to be, to meet regulations, no matter what the retail price. So it's fine to change brands of you feel your baby as an individual does show preferences or reactions.

Is he weaned then as you say he has everything else HIPP - current guidelines are from 6 months aren't they?

WinterLover · 14/12/2011 19:02

He has a bit of porridge/rice due to him bringing up milk, so on the advice of my HV I gave him a bit of rice/porridge and he was so much better

I used HIPP for an older baby (10mo) because my local supermarket sold it. I sort of liked the idea of it being organic but I know there's not a vast difference between brands.

I use HIPP and dd is 8 months now so is now on the HIPP follow on milk. She has been great - v healthy and I only bf for 2 weeks (a disaster) then moved to formula. I also weaned her a bit early at 5 months but mainly gave her baby rice and a bit of apple puree. After 6 months I gave her other foods/vegetables/fruits etc. My local Sainsbuty's and Waitrose sells it. I like the fact it is organic and has the prebiotics in for their digestion - though I know other brands may have this too. I also use the hipp cereals/pots. Have you tried the Organix range of baby food?

I started off with dd on sma then after a few wks switched to aptamik but at almost £10 a time and noticing at the time that hipp was only £6 something I done some research on the brands. I found that by strict regulations, all brands must contain the same 'basics' that make up the milk but then of course, some add extras. So I switched to hipp (cheaper, organic) so was happy. Dd has never had and issues with it. Smile
