i am going back to work in a month (gulp) when dd will be 7.5 months. i will work 2 days a week. she was exclusively breastfed for 6 months, & has taken to solids with gusto. she'll be at nursery when i'm at work.

she still breastfeeds a lot. i don't really want to stop yet. she is very reluctant to take a bottle (though we haven't tried that hard....), but is quite happy with water from a sippy cup. i don't really want to express for her if i can help it.

so, given that she'll be with me 5 days out of 7, do you think it would work for me to feed her when she's with me, & for her to have solids & water when she's at nursery? i've always had masses of milk, so suspect supply won't be a problem. but is it mean?? and if so, how are we going to persuade her that bottles aren't spawn of the devil...?

I wouldn't have thought she'd take enough calories on just solids and water to stop her being ravenous, to be honest.

If you don't want to express, would you give formula? She could have it in any sort of cup she's happy with, if she really won't take a bottle.

yes, i don't mind her having formula. i think we should try harder with the bottles.
