My DS EBF has been sleeping really well until the last two nights. He feeds every 3/4 hrs during day and cluster feeds around 5/6pm then goes down at 7pm. He was sleeping through until 12.30ish then waking for a feed at 4.00pm. Now he wants to feed every 1.5to2 hours through the night. Everyone keeps telling me to introduce a formula feed at 10/11 but not sure what to do. Advice please :-)

My EBF DD is 7 weeks and did this too. It's most likely a growth spurt. I just fed her on demand - it does pass. Its just their way of increasing your milk supply. The Wonder Weeks book and website explains growth spurts really well so have a read if you can.

My DD did this too, it's typical growth spurt time. Just keep feeding and it will pass.

My DD is 11 weeks now & although she goes down to bed well at 7pm every night there is no consistency as to when she wakes in the night for a feed. It's normally just once but can be between 1am and 4am. I just go with it as I think she is too little for a strict routine and I am just feeding on demand.

sounds like a growth spurt to me too. if you can possibly avoid it, rather than introducing a FF, just keep on feeding whenever your DS wants it. he will slow down in a few days but he's just putting his order in for more milk.

Well done for getting through to 6weeks EBF Xmas Smile
