8mo ds was happily guzzling/ eating, good appetite
Last thurs/ fri had sickness & dioreeah (sp!) bug which he thankfully better from BUT he has drastically reduced his milk intake and I'm a bit worried
I will call hv and gp Tom but they both push back to tge other and wondered if any of you had any experience/ thoughts I could arm myself with
8am bf- ok as usual
830 breakfast, slower but same amount consumed
12ish was 8oz bottle now only taking 5oz
1ish lunch, half amount to before
6 dinner, similar amount but slower
7 was 8oz now only 3oz...
12 was 6oz last few nights dropped all together
So from 22& bm to 8& bm
He will take a small amount of water but that's it
It's not right is it :-(
12ish was 7-8oz ff, now only taking 5oz

8oz isn't much for a 8month old you are right. Instead of taking him to the HV though I would go to the GP and get them to check that he is ok, make sure they check his throat, mouth and ears as well as his tummy as they can all interfere with feeding if they are sore.

Could you offer either a bf or ff in the afternoon too? If he has a bottle at 12 and lunch at 1 then he may take some more milk at say 3 ish? Just thought it might help to up his milk intake.

hv gave standard we'll weigh him at next clinic answer....
he took a little more today though only 2oz now for bed, so will see how the night goes and speak to gp tomorrow...
