Paracetamol + Calpol?

Possibly a silly question! As far as I know it is alright to take paracetamol when breastfeeding, but a little bit does get into the milk. Does anyone know if it's okay to take if your baby's had calpol? Don't want to overdose her! But have had cracking headache all day.
Asked the nurse this at her jags today, she was totally confused, then astonished when she realised I'm still breastfeeding at 3 months, but didn't have any idea!

According to this www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/pdfs/Analgesia_and_Breastfeeding_March_2010.pdf it's fine

Yes it's fine, although I personally prefer infant Disprol to Calpol as it's got fewer additives. Not your question at all, I do understand :)

Why was she astonished?

Belmo · 07/12/2011 09:49

Ah brilliant thankyou! organiccarrotcake that's good to know about Disprol, thanks! :)
coccyx she shouldn't be astonished, but in a town of roughly 65000 I'm apparantly one of five breastfeeding mums. A bit depressing, but I like to think I'm helping normalise it by getting my boobs out anywhere and everywhere :)
