for the sake of my boobs - EBF baby wont have a bottle or dummy

I'd really love dd to have a bottle occasionally so I can sometimes let DP do a night feed. I really need this for my sanity! she is also feeding to sleep and as she drops off she uses my boobs as a dummy, which is starting to make them sore. I pull off as soon as I sense her doing this. When I give her a bottle she bites it or pushes it out with her tongue and she just spits out a dummy. Has anyone had this? or any ideas to get her to learn how to use them or is there no hope ?
Thanks in advance! Xmas Smile

I have heard you can really work at it - different types of teats etc. But we just gave up as he had a really strong tongue thrust and wouldn't take medicine etc. It took ages for him to actually swallow solids as well.

Sorry not much help.

How old is your DD cherry? Is she able to drink from a cup instead?

Thought you might like to read this.

Both of mine where persistent bottle refusers though so haven't got much advice on that front.

Is there a Bfing support group locally where you could go and see if they have any tips and get a BFC to check your nipples and her latch?

dc2&3 were total bottle refusers too, i ended up having to breastfeed them both til 13 months when they finally accepted a nuby cup. twas blimmin hard work and a long slog, so i feel your pain, but now that youngest is 2, i find myself looking at breastfeeding mums and feeling a bit sad that i'll never do it again Shock so if you really can't get anywhere with different teats/different people feeding them etc, try and remind yourself that it's not forever
