Contraceptive pild and breastfeeding

I need some advice about contraceptive pild and breastfeeding. I am going to my doctor this evening and I would like to ask about the contraceptive pild. DD is 2.4 years old and we have just managed to reduce breastfeeds to 2 per day last week. I guess we still have plenty of breastfeeding before all the feeds dissappear so I just need to know which pild I can take. Not sure if my doctor will have any knowledge of breastfeeding as my experience with doctors and breastfeeding is not very good. I have read in here in past that most contraceptive pilds can have an effect on breastfeeding but there is one that you can take while breastfeeding. Could anyone help me? I do not want to find myself in the situation where the doctor tells me that I have to stop breastfeeding before I can take the pild. I would like if this happens to be able to say the name of the pild that I can take.

You help much appreciated. Thank you Xmas Grin

It's not recomended to take the combined pill while BF as it can effect your supply.

They recomend you take the mini pill which is perfectly safe to take while feeding. You could also consdier other contraception like haveing a coil fitted. You GP should know.
