Poor DD (11 months) appears to have her first sickness bug and has vomitted everywhere this evening and I feel completely clueless (think its the whole pfb thing). She is currently asleep downstairs with me as her cot was soaking wet but should I wake her to give water or BF her or just leave her to sleep??

I would let her sleep and offer water if she wakes.

Hope she's better soon.

Thanks, I was thinking the same thing but motherhood has made me really indecisive I think

I think you should breastfeed Smile

MartyrStewart · 03/12/2011 01:13

Don't wake her, but offer her the breast as soon as she is ready Smile

You can carry on bf when she needs it. It's horrible when they are poorly tge good thing about bf is that they get loads of comfort from it as well as milk. At 11 months though if you feel she needs more fluid offer water as well.

Antidote · 03/12/2011 01:18

Make sure you wash your hands, and keep your fluid intake up. You want to try not to catch it, and to be prepared if she wants to bf little & often.

Hope she's feeling better soon.

Thanks everyone, we slept together and she just BF little and often throughout the night. She has woke this morning and although she seems well in herself she now has diahorrah (sp??)
Think her fluid intake is fine because she is drinking water as well as BF'ing. I have just had a mad half an hour with my antibacterial spray whilst she sleeps and I think its a day snuggling for us watching disney movies Grin

Oh no, good luck, hope she feels better soon. Enjoy your films :)

Let her BF as much as she wants, its the best thing for her tummy, plus offer extra water on top, but BM is better as it will balance her salts and sugars.

ps Make sure you wash all her bedding and sicky pjs etc at 60 plus to kill all the nasties.

MadameJ · 03/12/2011 13:18

Thats a great point Yesmynameis about the washing, I have washed everything on the normal cycle so far but I will put it back on a hotter wash Grin
