For the past three weeks DD (now 10 weeks) has been feeding roughly every 4 hours - this has been on demand so it's varied a bit, usually from 3.5 - 4.5 hours between feeds. She's supposed to have (according to the formula box) 6oz 5 times per day, but because she hasn't dropped a feed and is still having 6, I've been giving her 5oz each time (so the total per 24 hours is right, but spread out differently). This has been fine, though it strikes me as a bit of a vicious circle - maybe if I gave her 6oz she WOULD drop a feed? Don't want to give it to her, her not drop the feed and just overeat? Argh!
Anyway, the odd thing is that having done this quite happily for a while now, and having always finished her bottles with very little being sick (so I think it must be the right amount?) last night she suddenly started wanting feeds far more regularly, and it's carried on today - so she's been eating roughly every 2 - 3 hours. She's definitely hungry and she wants the whole bottle, screams if I try to give her a bit less (because I'm so worried about her having 7 or 8 feeds in a day - massive overconsumption?), but is then being sick after nearly all the feeds.
Then, just to confuse me even more, she fed at about 3pm today and has not had a bottle since - in fact I tried to give her one (the only one I've offered and which hasn't been demanded if you see what I mean) after her bath and she point blank refused it. It's now been 6 hours, she's fast asleep and showing no signs of waking up and I'm freaking out a bit. She's technically had quite a lot more milk than she should have done, but she's also been sick a lot more than usual, and now she's gone the longest she's ever gone without a bottle - all in one 24 hour period! Should I wake her to feed her? Anyone know what's going on? Please help, I'm panicking! (She doesn't have a temperature by the way.)
