A fun thread for bfers.

Planes! Going up pop on boob, then snooze, then a copy of heat

After a nasty bump to the head - instant comfort. When poorly - sometimes the only thing DS will 'eat' when he's not well.

lurcherlover · 24/11/2011 22:20

When the phone rings and you want to settle down for a nice long chat.

When taking a small baby to the cinema Grin

Secondtimelucky · 24/11/2011 22:22

For scaring the postman?

jaggythistle · 24/11/2011 22:23

tantrums! DS used to like to cuddle up for a feed after a wee meltdown and it seemed to sort him right out. :)

jaggythistle · 24/11/2011 22:25

also when poorly for us too. the doctor complimented us on how well hydrated DS was when he had a vomiting virus and was off food and water but still Bf lots.

smearedinfood · 24/11/2011 22:27

I was stuck on the M40 for 5 hrs with a 7 month old, no supplies as I was going 1 junction to the supermarket. Breastfeeding saved my sanity, really really don't know what I would have done otherwise.

Trixxie89 · 24/11/2011 22:33

Long chats on the phone, better table at a restaurant and saying DS is due for a feed so you can hold him again!!

PelvicF1oorOfSteel · 24/11/2011 22:33

I have left the house without nappies/ spare clothes/ toddler drinks and snacks/ housekeys/ cashcard/ phone/ any other life essential you can name but I have never left the house without food for my baby. Grin Sort of makes up for the memory loss which seems to come with a baby...

SirBoobAlot · 24/11/2011 22:34

Definately when ill. And for when I can't distract him any other way!
If I haven't cooled food down enough (has only happened once, with a jacket potato, but boob fixed it instantly).
When he's be en away from me for the day, and wants to reconnect :-)

smearedinfood · 25/11/2011 13:57

"oh no" to being stuck on the M40 with baby!

OP posts:
pinkgirlythoughts · 25/11/2011 16:55

When he wants to get up at 5am, and snuggling in my bed with a boob is the only way he'll go back to sleep!

nomoremagnolia · 28/11/2011 11:46

Over the w/e we were doing a long evening/night drive and although DS was asleep when we left he woke and wouldn't go back to sleep. M'way services car park -> bf -> back to sleep. Without having to get out of the car :o I was expecting him to sleep the whole was so wouldn't have prepared a feed for him.
Totally agree with never forgetting the baby's food!

nomoremagnolia · 28/11/2011 11:47

whole way
