When will I stop producing milk?

I last breastfed Dd2 (13months) a week ago today, I had only been doing two breastfeeds a day from 11 months and was down to just one feed a day for a few weeks before I stopped.

For the first couple of days after stopping I felt perfectly comfortable but since then I have been leaking milk and am now feeling quite engorged. I'm concerned because the last 2 times I've been engorged I developed infected mastitis.

When I stopped breastfeeding my previous children I did it in the same way, gradually reducing the feeds and didn't have this problem.

Is it normal or should my milk have dried up by now?

I did similiar to you and didn't feel engorged but still had milk 'there' iywim for a long time, prob 6 months or more!!

6 months! Eek!

You might have to talk to your g.p - you can get medication to stop your milk production I think
