Poor little DD, 15 months beside herself with teething is asking for BF's constantly. Now I am sore for the first time since the new born phase! Oh who am I kidding, I am so a dummy right now........

Nahh, dummies are artificial nipples, we came first :)

It's bloody hard when they're teething and need us so much. On the other hand, I try to look at it the other way round. When friends with babies describe how they've "cried all day" because of their teeth I feel that at least I have an additional way to offer comfort when mine is suffering. Makes me feel better about being in agony by being pregnant while BFing making me really sore...

So true carrot cake. Jo Frost was recently quoted as saying (to a mother who still bf-d at 15 months) 'He is using your nipple as a substitute dummy' nice one Jo, the clue is in the word 'DUMMY'.

She has cried for some of the day but not the bits where she was being fed :-) Plus I ate 3 slices of cake yesterday and 2 today and I am not in the least bit concerned about gaining weight whilst it is still falling off me thanks to my little vampire...

Oh, I can sympathise! Not with the BF part, DS decided he didn't want to do that anymore a few months back Sad, but he is also teething and refuses to be soothed by anything other than sleeping on me. If DH tries to cuddle him in to give me a break he freaks out. Blinking knackering. We co-sleep so I at least get some rest, but he's waking earlier and earlier to come in beside me and I feel like that bear in the book 5 minutes peace!! Hope your DD settles soon. Teething - definite design flaw!

firstimer It's tough, isn't it. Hope it improves for your soon. :(

zimm Jo Frost = major fail. She's just being slated on Facebook for promoting SMA.

firsttimer78 · 22/11/2011 20:34

Me too, or I may not be responsible for my actions in my search for a few hours decent kip!

organiccarrotcake · 22/11/2011 23:00

Yeah Blush. Some of my un-finest moments as a parent have been while sleep deprived :( :(

But, we'll move on from that.

On another note, zimm, mine is nearly 18 months and I've felt the same about the soreness, putting it down to teething, and it totally passing me by that it was actually due to me making a new DC. Just sayin'. Grin.

Ha! Very unlikely, still no periods..... Have got long to go?

zimm - some women find that they get sore around ovulation and sometimes experience a drop in supply. Maybe your fertility is returning - and don't rule out pregnancy completely. I got pg twice on first ovulation so no periods til DC3 was 19 months
