Stupid inverted nipples are not going to let me down this time - are they?!

With DC1 I had a nightmare with feeding, nipples inverted, tongue tie not spotted until I was in such a mess it took nearly a week before I could feed her again. It never really got going and I ended up exclusively pumping for 3 months - that was fun....hmmm.

But now I am pregnant with DC2, I know that inverted nipples doesn't mean bfing is not possible, but it is harder. I am armed with the avent nipplette, something I had too late last time. Just wondering if anyone has had success using this product. Or is there anything else I can try?! Am so keen that this works this time as I know with a toddler in tow being tied to a pump for hours a day is just not going to be practical.

Many thanks, feels so funny to be back on this page, was such a sanctuary during the early dark months the first time around!

I can't help on the inverted nipple part but would it be possible to do a bit of both? Express and freeze some so if some feeds are difficult you could supplement them.

Hi monkey and welcome back :) Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Sorry to hear you had such a rubbish time last time, and much kudos for the 3 months expressing.

I know lots of people have found the nipplette to be really useful, so well worth a try. Here's some more info: www.motherandchildhealth.com/Breastfeeding/Becky/inverted.html
