before things improved?
Just had DS snipped at 20 weeks, I realise that maybe he has to learn to suck differently but just wondering when I can expect a bit less pain? And I am already pretty sore so its hard to tell if there has been any improvement.
Also started some cranial osteopathy to see if it helps.

Oh, small improvement immediately (but sore nipples still sore, as you say). Continued to improve especially as DC grew bigger and more able to open mouth wider. I promise it gets better! Don't give up!

I second what smile says. Im my experience small improvement straight away then gradual improvement over the next weeks with a much happier baby and mum.

My DS had his done at 9 weeks. He's now 10w5d and it's still hurting and his weight's not going up. I can recommend jelonet and ibroprofen to help with the pain but am hoping it will get better.

Hello Nearly!!! Just checking to see how things went?? I read you managed to get it done closer to home? Hope things are getting easier for u now?

thank you all for your replies. The past week has been tough I suppose I expected too much too quick.
But I can now say that one week on there has been a definite improvement. Infact last night DS fed and I had to double check he was on because it wasnt hurting (hoping this wasnt just a dream!) There is still a slight pinch but hopefully another week will show even more improvement.
Laid back nursing has been the way forward, letting him latch on himself, I did try the cradle hold but we were back to square one.
Sciencegeekmum I hope it gets better for you too. Would suggest the bio nuturing position and see if that helps.
Mampig it was the quickest wee snip, am getting more and more pee'd off that I had to have 20 weeks of pain. I just wish I had known earlier.

Nearlyready, so glad it's improved for you. Certainly the last two days it's been better for me too, one side doesn't hurt at all and the other's getting better each day. Not sure DS's weight has gone up yet but he has started sleeping through the night!

Hope the improvement continues for you.

Glad it worked for you. I also wish I'd known sooner.
