Why is ds suddenly so windy?

DS is 17wks, ff and suffers from severe reflux.

He is on nutramigen and we use Dr Browns bottles. He used to be very windy but it settled as soon as we started on the new bottles.

But suddenly he's started being really windy again. As in, has not stopped crying since 10am. I can hear the wind bubbling around but can't shift it.

It's really getting me down. On top of the nightmare reflux this is too much.

Poor little man :(

It may not be wind - he could be upset for other reasons. 'Hearing the wind' is not necessarily a sign of being windy; if you listen to anyone's tummy you will hear gurglings. It's not air but the normal slurpings and swirlings of the digestive system.

Could it be the reflux bothering him again?

Button - I have absolutely nothing to add but just wanted to say I hope it's got better as the day has gone on. I remember your early posts about your DS - TT etc and it sounds like you've had a tough few months! Hope you're managing to get some sleep.

Tiktok I know - my own tummy gurgles like mad but it was making the sounds normally associated with what happens before he burps. He screamed until gone 2 when he turned into the happiest little boy in the world which coincided with when DH came home -grr! I actually recorded him screaming so DH could see what I'm on about as he seems to save his worst times for when it's just me and him so everyone says it must be that it 'seems' worse when you're alone.

FWIW, he did do some mammoth farts last night which makes me wonder if it was wind as he doesn't really do that since being off the dairy Confused

I know the reflux does bother him a lot (slight understatement). We're off the see the gastroenterologist tomorrow (a new one) so I'm really hoping she'll be able to implement a strategy which actually works.

Thank you Titania - I seem to remember you having some tough times too. Babies are not all snuggles and Fairy powder are they ?! Wink
