One off painful letdown?

DS is 15mo and after a difficult start, bf-ing has been ticking along nicely for the last however long. I was feeding him last night (his sleep is going less well!) and while he was feeding from the first side, I felt pin-prick kinds of pains on the other side. I don't normally feel letdowns at all, and when I occasionally have, it has been odd/tickly rather than painful, but the timing of it (at the beginning and at intervals as he fed) made me wonder if it could be. When he then fed from the second side, it just felt normal, and again when he has fed today. Could it be a one off painful letdown after all this time, or if not, any ideas what it might be? Assuming it remains a one off, it doesn't really matter; I'm just curious!

It could be a one off I suppose, had he gone longer between feeds leaving you more full?

Glad bfing has been going well for you now and let us know if it happens again.
