i have been thinking...
should i give my exclusively breast fed baby abidec as a multi vit especially for vitamin D?
It seems formular contains it, but i dont think breast milk does, does it?

We dont have much sunlight at the moment, and by the time my baby is in her snowsuit & hat and then puts her muslin over lots of her face as she seems to like it i dont suppose she has much oppertunity to get it on her daily walk in the pram either...
yesturday we went out slightly later than usual and when we got home at 4.20 it was dark!

i cant see her having the oppertunity to be exposed to much sunlight in the next few months either...

NHS advice is to give breastfed babies a supplement once they reach six months of age, or possibly from one month of age if the mother did not take a vitamin D supplement during pregnancy. As I understand, as long as the mother is/was not vitamin D deficient, the baby should be fine until at least six months with the stores they were born with plus vitamin D they receive through breastmilk.
