Would anyone be interested in offering any of the following?

  • Their story of being a milk donor to a UK milk bank?
  • Their story of receiving donor milk for their baby from a milk bank in the UK?
  • Photos of breastfeeding their own baby, expressing, or anything milk related that might be suitable for illustrating the UKAMB website?

We'd be really grateful for any contributions :)

PM me for contact details.

Thanks all xx

Thanks madderhat :) Don't forget to join UKAMB as a donor (or former donor) for free :) www.ukamb.org/forms/Membership_application_10.pdf (just put your donor hospital next to option 5 and cross out the £15 membership.

nannyl brill - I got it - will reply :)

Why is it free?

nannyl · 29/12/2011 08:59

perhaps to thank the donars for their time / trouble and milk which saves the lives of little tiny babies?

organiccarrotcake · 29/12/2011 18:07

madderhat as nannyl says :)

Also, we're really keen to build up relationships with donors and former donors as they're a great way to spread the word about donating, and also encouraging new parents to ask for donor milk if appropriate. We used to produce a newsletter which was a good way of recognising our donors, and people who have fundraised for us, but we've not been able to do it for a while. I'm planning to get it up and running again in the new year and hope that members will find it interesting.

UKAMB is desperate for funds (like all charities of course) and if any donors wish to pay for membership it would make a big difference to us. But most important is to keep those relationships and to thank donors for the magical gift that they give.

I think I'd prefer not to cost UKAMB any administrative money, so I'd either join and pay or not join. I've been drafting my story - shall I send it straight to the email address on UKAMB's website?
