I don't know what is going on with my 12 wo DD's latch but since yesterday morning it HURTS. it feels as if she is biting me with tiny pincers and my nipples are getting a bit sore. Shall I get the lansinoh back out??
Is this teething related? She started teething at only 6 weeks and has a little side tooth emerging but it isn't fully through, only a little bit.
I have tried holding her in a different position. Problem is also worse on left side.
What can I do?

Sorry- no advice, just sympathy. My DS is exactly the same, it's as if he's put razor wire in his mouth!

I don't think it can be teething related, as he is only 6 weeks, and has been doing it for at least a week.

Hope someone else has some good ideas!

When this happened to me I ended up with mastitis... - it turned out I had a blocked duct too deep to easily feel. Don't want to worry you but have a really good check for blocked ducts....

Thrush?

Could be teeth, my 3 week old has his first tooth poking out right at the front. His teeth have been visible, just under the surface since he was born! This is even more extreme, given he was born at 34 weeks, so is not full term yet. Apparently it isn't that unusual, my brother had his first tooth at 2 weeks old, maybe these things run in families, ask around if anyone else got teeth early. Hope whatever it is clears up soon, at the risk of being shot down in flames, maybe its time to get the bottles out Smile
