I get all those except black poo, plus mastitis and thrush Grin

violetwellies · 07/11/2011 10:44

The nipple didn't actually bleed, the blood was in the milk when I first tried pumping :)

And I would do it all over again in a heartbeat (well if I had a do over I would do somethings differently but no way would I not bf)

JollySergeantJackrum · 07/11/2011 12:07

It's funny, the list is overwhelmingly negative, but I also would definitely BF again. The positives and the good feelings outweigh all of the difficulties.

I feel for you on not sleeping through at 18 months though! My body is attempting to pack in after 6 months!

I wouldn't say my list was overwhelmingly negative - I counted less than 20 out of 40+ that were negative (I don't count not sleeping through at 18m as a negative - just normal behaviour for a infant!). DD3 is now 2 and still has the occasional night feed (~5am) and I haven't cracked yet Wink

JollySergeantJackrum · 07/11/2011 12:44

You know, TS, you're right... I've got mastitis just now. And shingles. So I'm feeling a little sorry for myself! Looking at my list less than half are negative too. So it's not all bad :)

No its all good, still breast feeding despite a few minor setbacks :)

pictish · 07/11/2011 17:07

God I hated breastfeeding. The pain of thrush, the agony of mastitis, the exhaustion, the bind, the lack of weight gain for my sons....
I ebf my first two, but when I had my third I couldn't face it all again and went onto the bottle. It was bliss!
