When did your period return while EBFing?

I've been EBFing DD, who is now seven months. Have had no sign yet of my period returning and am curious to know when others have had the 'pleasure' of a reacquaintance.

Got mine both times just before they turned 1. Bf ds till 23 months, still bf dd who is 13 months.

ThePathanKhansWitch · 30/10/2011 20:58

After 6 weeks!! 6 weeks i tell you, how rubbish is that ?. Didn't affect supply, i went on to feed dd until 3.10 months.

charlatan · 30/10/2011 21:01

Fed DS until he was 18 months and got my period back at about 9 months.

Beamur · 30/10/2011 21:03

After about a year.

JoinTheDots · 30/10/2011 21:04

DD was 9 months when mine returned.

academyblues · 30/10/2011 21:04

EBF both mine for first 6 months and my period came back before weaning with both of them. Neither sleeping through the night either.

It went straight back into a 28 day cycle with dd, though was a bit erratic with ds.

14 months, but he fed about every 90 mins till he was 9 months, which was rather gruelling.

StetsonsAreCool · 30/10/2011 22:52

2 weeks after DD's first birthday. On her birthday I stopped pumping and feeding her during the day, so she was feeding roughly 12 hours apart. I'd not been feeding her in the night for a while by then, it seemed to be the daytime stopping that kick started AF.

She's still having her two feeds 5 months later.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 30/10/2011 22:55

introduced formula at 5months, stopped breastfeeding completely at 9month.

Period returned when DS was almost 2!!

FessaEst · 30/10/2011 23:01

Had a mini-period when DD1 was nearly 11 months and I began night-weaning - that was the only one between DD1 & DD2 - fell pg that cycle!

Haven't had a proper period for coming up to 3 years Grin

MonkeyJuice · 30/10/2011 23:23

All i can say is that you lot are soooo lucky. I've got four children and mine returned 3 weeks after the post partum bleeding every sodding time! Despite them all being exclusively bf til a minimum of 6 months! So unfair.
I must have wonky hormones.

PessimisticMissPiggy · 30/10/2011 23:27

I'm six months in and no sign!

Cosmosis · 31/10/2011 10:32

11.5m, about 2 weeks after night weaning.

MotherPanda · 31/10/2011 14:35

4 weeks :( Not fair!, I initially hoped it was just extended lochia.. but then it came back at 8 and 12 weeks. DD feeds every hour or two in the day, but has always slept through - so I put it down to that.

So I want my money back from the NHS - they promised me I wouldn't need pads!

gitinora · 31/10/2011 15:21

Been feeding for 10 months now and had a period every month. Its so not fair!

MilesFlora · 31/10/2011 18:10

3 months on the dot :( thought I'd get more

SarahScot · 31/10/2011 18:56

DD is 7.5 months and no sign yet. I've been back at work FT since she was 5 months so don't feed (or pump) during the day. (She does, however, feed ALL sodding night.)

ShowOfHands · 31/10/2011 18:58

13 weeks
5 weeks

ffs

effingwotnots · 31/10/2011 18:58

When he was about 12 months

headfairy · 31/10/2011 18:59

9 months both times, first time I was already back at work and doing only 2 feeds a day, second time I was still at home and doing about 10 feeds a day (sort of, most of those were at night grrrr!) so I guess 9 months is just when my body's decided "I've had enough of this no period lark, here you go, here's a really heavy one to start you off!"

:o

discrete · 31/10/2011 19:02

19 months ds1
17 months ds2

discrete · 31/10/2011 19:03

well, obviously was not ebfing by then....

ohbabybaby · 31/10/2011 19:50

Nearly 9 months, which was about 3 weeks after I stopped breastfeeding and, I think more significantly, about 6 weeks after nightweaning.

If pattern is same this time I will be very pleased to have only had 3 periods in 3 1/2 years (though I am clearly very unlucky because the last of those 3 periods fell on my wedding day Angry)
