Just a small step

DD is 17mo. She has just gone to sleep for the first time without a BF while I'm in the house!!!

I'm so proud

I thought I'd be feeding her to almost sleep until she left for uni! The last few weeks she just mucks around during her last feed, normally resulting with a hand, foot, or both, in my mouth. And my boob stretched further than it should be as she tries to get down from the chair and take it with her.

We've switched her bedtime routine so her feed is before she goes up to clean her teeth and have a story. I'm relieved that she can do it, but can't share that in RL.

Oh wow, I am in awe of you. DD is 14 months and I still feed her to sleep every night. I don't want to be the one who stops it, so I am hanging on in there for the evening you have just had. Congratulations!

Yay! I found it such a relief to not be the bedtime routine anymore. Now relaxxxxx.......

DH is going to do the new bedtime for a week, so she learns that this is the way now, and then we're going to take it in turns. It's such a relief to not have to do every one!

Ruth, 3 months ago I would never have thought she would do this. But she got there - have faith.

It remains to be seen if the same happens tomorrow though... But she'll have to get used to it
