9 month old constant fidgeting on breast!!

It's driving me mad. He's either nipping me, distracted or has to have a toy in his hand to hit me with!!

I've tried putting him down on the floor, trying to lessen any distractions and making sure the toys are soft, lol!!

Has anyone got any tips at all which might help us have a happy breastfeeding time again? TIA :)

Mine would do this sometimes, thought at a younger age, and I would take them off and put them in the pram/on the play mat. They either settledf or shouted as they realised they did actually want to feed.
